MHA Board

Meet The Marietta Housing Authority

Board of Commissioners

The Marietta Housing Authority Board of Commissioners is made up of six members; the Chair and Vice-Chair are elected by the board. The Commissioners are the governing officers of the Authority. Their responsibilities include setting policies governing the operations of the Authority; charting the direction of current and future programs and development; and approving contracts entered into by the Authority.

The MHA Board meetings are held every second Wednesday of the month. The meeting begins at Noon and takes place at the MHA Administrative Office, 95 Cole Street, Marietta Georgia. On occasion, the meeting may be held at another property of the MHA and will be specified on the agenda for the month in which there is a change of location.

Our board members are:

Ken Dollar
Colonel, USAF (Retired)
In addition to 25 years in the U. S. Air Force, Col. Dollar served 12 years as Director of Technical and Support Services at Georgia Tech’s School of Mechanical Engineering. Prior to that, he had one of the best jobs in Atlanta: Director of Opening and Closing Ceremonies for the 1996 Olympic Games. Col. Dollar served the City with distinction as Chair of the Planning and Zoning Commission. Perhaps his most unusual resume item, however, is that he served as an NFL instant replay official.
Allen Krivsky

Allen is from the mountains of northeast Georgia and resident of Marietta for 30 years. After graduating from Southern Technical Institute (now KSU) with a Civil Engineering Technology degree in 1993, he partnered with three civil engineers to start Heath & Lineback Engineers in 1994. Allen serves as Chief Operating Officer managing operations for business development, marketing, project management and delivery for civil engineering of transportation facilities involving highways, bridges, multi-use paths and automated people movers. As a life-long Methodist, he attends Marietta First and has served on various ministry teams and boards. Allen has served on the Cole Street Development Board of Directors since 2017. Allen and his wife, Kelly, have three teenagers and have enjoyed raising their kids in the Marietta School System and Marietta community.
Mitch Hunter
Appointed by Mayor Steve Tumlin in 2010, Mr. Hunter is a second generation MHA Commissioner who actually occupies the position once held by his father, David Hunter. After serving as Cong. Phil Gingrey’s Chief of Staff in Washington, DC, Mr. Hunter returned to Marietta and launched a successful public affairs business. Mr. Hunter is the Managing Director of GMHC 360 where he works with corporations, associations, non-profits and campaigns to develop and implement strategic solutions at the local, state and federal levels. A graduate of the University of Georgia, Mr. Hunter and his wife, Jaillene, have four young boys.
Chervonta “Taye” Pugh

After a decade as a proud City of Marietta resident, Chervonta “Taye” Pugh was appointed by Mayor Tumlin to the Board in March 2013.  She currently serves as resident Commissioner and already has displayed extraordinary knowledge of affordable housing programs. Taye is a mother of two with a passion for literature, math education, and helping families overcome odds to achieve self-sufficiency.  She is an enthusiastic participant and promoter of MHA’s Family Self  Sufficiency Program and is a teacher with the Cobb County School System and thus validates tht program as an example to others.
Diana Simmons

Diana grew up in Savannah, Georgia and it was during her childhood years that she learned the value of hard work helping her father catch shrimp for the local markets. She continued working hard through high school and college, where she earned both academic and athletic scholarships and became a Co-Captain of the Berry College Women’s Equestrian Team. After college Diana set her sights on law school and attended Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. As a law student, she chose to focus on gaining real world experience and participated in an internship program where she tried real cases against experienced licensed attorneys. Following graduation Diana led the Domestic Violence Unit in Clayton County as a sole prosecutor until she joined the Cobb County Solicitor General’s Office in May of 2010. She was elected Judge of the State Court of Cobb County in 2020 and was appointed by Marietta Mayor Steve Tumlin in May of 2018 to serve on the Board of Commissioners of the Marietta Housing Authority. Diana lives in Marietta and attends First Presbyterian Church of Marietta with her husband Stirling and their three sons.
